Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Registered Energy Advisors are trained in the use of the EnerGuide Rating System (ERS) to assess the energy performance, and potential energy savings, for homes during the design, construction, renovation and upgrade (retrofit) stage.

Registered Energy Advisors are tested on, and must have knowledge and experience in areas such as:

  • EnerGuide Rating System
  • Residential construction practices for low-rise housing
  • Energy efficiency renovation practices
  • Building science
  • Energy simulation modeling
