A Weather-ready Home Assessment is a free and comprehensive evaluation of your home’s readiness for extreme weather events including extreme heat and cold, flooding, and windstorms. This assessment identifies potential vulnerabilities in your home’s structure, landscaping, and critical systems.
No charge for Durham Region residents
Open to homeowners, landlords, and tenants.
Weather-ready Home Assessments can be done either on-site or remotely (virtual online video meeting). Either way, there is no charge for Durham residents.
Note: On-site Assessments are now fully subscribed and no longer available to new applicants. Remote Assessments are still available.
Remote Assessments:
- 60 minute duration.
- Participant uses our mobile form to take and submit photos of required features around their property and in the basement of their home.
- A video call is scheduled between assessor and resident to review photos and complete the assessment.
You will be provided a detailed report with recommendations to enhance your home’s safety, efficiency, and durability
After the assessment, you will be provided a detailed report within one week outlining key risk areas and actionable recommendations to enhance your home’s safety, efficiency, and durability.
