Weather-ready rebates — Whitby
Available to Whitby residents only
Whitby residents may be able to receive up to $5000 back in rebates for doing eligible weather-ready upgrades. Residents can also take advantage of the free Weather-ready Home Assessment to help plan their projects efficiently.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The proposed project must be located within the Region of Durham.
- The proposed project must be on a residential property.
- All required permits must be obtained.
- The project must be completed in 2026, with all reimbursement and feedback forms submitted by November 30, 2026.
- You must be the property owner or have written permission from the owner to carry out the project.
- The minimum project spend is $500.
- Complete one of the following:
- Complete a Weather-Ready Home Assessment; or
- Depending on the rebate requirement
- have an inspection/quote a qualified contractor (i.e., a Fusion Landscape Professional, roofing/eavestrough specialist, basement waterproofing specialist, certified plumber) who will complete the design and installation of your project, or
- attend a workshop training session (certificate provided.)
How to apply
- Book a free consultation with a Greener Homes Coach.
- Your coach will inform you of available rebates and help you decide if the Whitby weather-ready rebates make sense for your renovation plans.
- Review project requirements and relevant documentation for desired retrofits and fill out the DGH Whitby Weather Ready Incentive Application Form provided by your Greener Homes Coach.
- Upload the application form alongside contractor quotes of planned upgrades to your user portal.
- Your Greener Homes Coach will review your application. If approved, you will receive a pre-approval notice to proceed with your retrofits.
- Complete your retrofit project and upload all required documents, including a completion report and invoices to your user portal.
- If all eligibility conditions are met, you will receive a rebate cheque in the mail within 1-2 months.
It is the homeowner’s responsibility to complete these steps in order to receive their rebate. If there is any confusion about these steps, please connect with your Greener Homes Coach for guidance.
